Restaurant Assistant Manager

As Poplar Grove’s Assistant Restaurant Manager, you would be working closely with the General Manager and a team of like-minded dedicated professionals to create exceptional guest experiences. The role is vital to the success of the restaurant and requires you to support and manage a diverse team of servers, server assistants, hosts, and expos.

Guest Experience & Service
- Ensure exceptional, consistent service standards throughout all service periods
- Actively engage with guests to ensure satisfaction and resolve concerns promptly and professionally
- Maintain a visible presence on the floor during service
- Anticipate guest needs and uphold an elevated hospitality experience
Team Leadership
- Support hiring, training, and development of front-of-house team members
- Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily service priorities
- Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to staff
- Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment
Operations
- Assist in managing reservations, pacing, and staff levels
- Ensure all side duties and opening/closing procedures are completed to standard
- Monitor service quality, food presentation, and timing between kitchen and service teams
- Support inventory control and ordering of restaurant supplies
Administrative
- Assist with scheduling and labour management
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and liquor regulations
- Perform cashout procedures, assist in developing SOPs, communicate with other
Requirements:
· Minimum two years management experience in a comparable setting.
· WSET II or equal
