Winery Harvest Assistant – Internship 2025

The Harvest Assistant role is an integral part of the winemaking team and requires a hardworking, enthusiastic individual that takes pride in their work and thrives in a fast-paced environment.  If you are a hardworking, practical, and hands-on person with an interest in wine then we encourage you to apply. This is a contract position starting in August 2025 and lasting for the duration of harvest.

Responsibilities 

  • Undertake processing and cellar operations such as destemming, pressing, racking, as well as tank and barrel cleaning. 
  • Keep areas and equipment clean, tidy and sanitary. 

Education and Work Experience 

The candidate must be strongly interested in wine and wine quality; post-secondary education is beneficial.  Previous winery work or vintage experience is advantageous but not mandatory. 

Practical skills 

  • Good practical abilities and sense of working efficiently with minimal supervision; understands that the most important tasks take priority. 
  • Forklift license – can train the right candidate.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 25kg .

Winemaking skills 

  • Shows understanding of winemaking principles and has a good understanding of relevant chemistry and technology.
  • Strongly focused on wine quality and cleanliness.

Attitude 

  • A careful, diligent, and thoughtful worker who works safely and assumes an attitude of ownership in the winery.
  • A team player who strives towards overall goals of premium winery production.

Additional Information

  • Competitive wage from $20 – $25 per hour.
  • Shifts are 3 days on 7-3, one day off then 3 days 2-10 throughout the harvest period. Payroll goes out bi-weekly.
