Celebrating Our 30th Vintage
In 1993, the first vines were planted on Poplar Grove Road overlooking Okanagan Lake. Just two years later, the inaugural vintage was produced: a small run of Cabernet Franc and Merlot that marked the beginning of Poplar Grove’s winemaking story.
Thirty years later, that same spirit of curiosity, patience, and passion continues to guide every bottle we produce.
From those first 150 cases in 1995 to the thriving estate winery we are today, Poplar Grove has remained rooted in the belief that great wine is shaped by exceptional land, dedicated people, and a deep respect for the Okanagan Valley.
As we release our 2025 wines from our 30th vintage, we raise a glass to the vineyards, the families, and the guests who have shared in this journey with us.
The Land That Started It All
Poplar Grove was founded in 1993 and is one of the original wineries on the Naramata Bench, a region that has become one of Canada’s most celebrated winegrowing areas.
Today, the Holler family farms estate vineyards across the southern Okanagan, carefully matching grape varieties to the valley’s diverse soils and climates. From the cooler slopes of the Naramata Bench to the warmer sites of the southern valley, each vineyard contributes to wines that reflect the character of this remarkable region.
Over the past three decades, Poplar Grove has become known for wines that balance tradition with innovation. From Pinot Gris and Cabernet Franc to the iconic red blend The Legacy, every vintage builds on the foundation laid by those first vines planted over thirty years ago.
From First Vintage to Family Legacy
Since the Holler family acquired Poplar Grove in 2007, the winery has grown into a fully estate-driven operation with vineyards across the southern Okanagan Valley.
Today, multiple generations of the family are involved in every aspect of the winery, from farming the vineyards to welcoming guests in the tasting room and restaurant. That sense of family remains central to Poplar Grove’s philosophy:

The 2025 vintage marks Poplar Grove’s 30th harvest, a milestone that celebrates the resilience of the vines, the dedication of our team, and the continued evolution of the winery. This vintage also marks the return of our BC VQA white and rosé wines, a moment we are incredibly proud of as we bring these expressions of our home vineyards back into our portfolio.
This milestone vintage begins with the release of two wines that have become signature expressions of the Okanagan Valley:
2025 Pinot Gris
Bright, expressive, and unmistakably Okanagan. Our Pinot Gris showcases vibrant orchard fruit and refreshing acidity, a hallmark of Poplar Grove since the early days of the winery.
2025 Rosé
Fresh, lively, and effortlessly drinkable. Crafted to celebrate the vibrancy of summer on the Bench, our Rosé captures the playful side of the valley while maintaining elegance and balance.
Together, these wines not only open the celebration of our 30th vintage, but also mark a meaningful return to BC VQA winemaking, setting the tone for the exciting releases still to come.
